A co-worker asked me how I was doing with my novel today. Boy I wish I could have told her I had finished writing it and was getting toward the final stages of editing it. But I couldn’t tell her that. The only thing I could tell her was the truth and the truth is I’m still on the 99 yard line. So she told me in no uncertain terms to finish it.
It may be strange, but sometimes in life it’s the straight forward talk that you need to hear - a cattle prod of words telling you that it’s time to stop letting life get in your way. A comment that makes you realize you started something that’s worth completing, so get it done.
Another co-worker had by her actions also prompted me to realize that she is also waiting for me to finish writing my novel. She had sent me a link to a project website called Kickstarter.com. It’s a site where people can donate money to you to help you to complete a project, such as writing a novel. She sent the link to me after she saw the GoFundMe campaign I started for my husband’s medical bills.
These gestures of concern are God’s methods to let me know he is working on ways to help me finish my current novel. That He will get people to show me the means to do it and that it’s okay to ask for help when you need it.
So after a year and a half of prayer and waiting on what the Lord truly wants me to do. I have His answers coming in loud and clear. My guess is He got tired of whispering that He wants me to finish writing this novel, so He’s starting to find ways to shout at me about it.
With God on my side and my friends cheering me on, it’s time to push through and finish this novel.
